Reading and Book Signing at Adobe Books, San Francisco CA

Join us for a night with Courtney E. Morgan, Melissa Brooks, and Colter Ruland, and The Thought Erotic sexual culture journal! Featuring a reading and book signing with Morgan, author of The Seven Autopsies of Nora Hanneman, and readings by Ruland and Brooks.

Kirkus Reviews said of The Seven Autopsies"Morgan takes a radical approach to the linked-story collection in her first book, shaping a young woman's life in tales that range from naturalistic to wildly speculative fiction. The stories, often experimental, share in common not so much their plots or structures but recurring motifs: the transformation of humans into birds, an angry mother dying of cancer, the messy details of bodily existence. Morgan’s stories may not be for the squeamish or the easily baffled, but open-minded readers ready for a challenge will delight in discovering the many sides of her mysterious heroine."

The Thought Erotic  journal is dedicated to fostering critical thinking and challenging oppressive ideologies around sexuality,  and to publishing art that expands the definitions of the erotic.

Melissa Brooks is finishing up her MFA in Fiction at the University of San Francisco. She’s the fiction editor of the literary journal Switchback and assistant editor of The Thought Erotic. Her stories have appeared in The Molotov Cocktail, Gravel, and Ginosko.

Colter Ruland recently received his MFA in Fiction at the University of San Francisco where he has also taught. His work has appeared in Persona MagazineDanse MacabreSwitchbackThe Thought Erotic, and Fiction Advocate. He is working on his first novel.

Courtney E. Morgan is the author of the book, The Seven Autopsies of Nora Hanneman, and editor at The Thought Erotic. She received her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Colorado where she has also taught creative writing. She currently teaches at Lighthouse Writers Workshop in Denver, and is working on a novel of literary speculative fiction.
